Okay, some people have been bugging me for a picture of my Christmas tree, so here it is!

Breakfast with Santa
After a busy Friday of cookie tasting, playing with friends, and visiting with Santa, the Scarbrough crew got up early this morning for yet another meeting with Santa--breakfast with him!! The kids had so much fun!! They ate pancakes with Santa Claus, made gingerbread houses, played with friends, ate candy before lunch, and watched Christmas movies-all while still in their PJ's!! When you are 4 years old and 2 years old-I mean, does it get any better than that?
Riley Kate with her little buddy Brooksy--still holding her candy cane!!
Cookies, Cookies, and More Cookies!!
We went to a cookie swap yesterday, and both of the kids had an absolute ball!! What child would not like a buffet of every kind of Christmas cookie you can imagine? Of course, neither of them ate any supper, but who cares--it's the Holidays!! AND there was a very special guest-Santa Claus himself! He made an extra special last minute trip from the North Pole just to come and see us!! I was so excited that Riley Kate was not scared of Santa, or "Sayunt" as she calls him. In fact, she really liked him!!
Grayton's PDS Christmas Program
We are so proud of Grayton!! He did such a wonderful job in his school Christmas program!! He sang so well (which he did not inherit from either parent!!) and remembered all of the words and hand motions!! It was so cute!! There is nothing better than a children's Christmas program to get you in the Christmas spirit!!

Tailgating, Bulldog Style!!
Well, we all headed to Starkville to watch the Dawgs finally pull out a win against Vandy!! It was a great game to watch! (Thanks to Jason's mother who watched our sweet but very busy 2 year old, so I could watch the game too!!) We enjoyed tailgating, but did not get to tailgate long enough--my fault--I had to get my daily run in that morning before we left--I know, I am too set in my ways!! We had a great time and are looking forward to Homecoming--I am going to be a little more flexible and run in Starkville that morning, so we will already be there!!!
The kids were so excited, and they had a wonderful time!!
Here are some pics of us tailgating at MSU--how we love it!!

Family Jewels
Okay, so I admit I love the show, Gene Simmons Family Jewels!! Jason and I both love to watch it, and it has made us love Gene Simmons and his whole family, especially Nick. Well, we heard he was coming to Clarksdale tonight to play at Ground Zero, so we went and I got to hear Nick sing and meet him--so cool!! He is so tall and very nice!! When I met him I said "You are so tall!" and he said "and I'm sorry I'm sweaty too--well, you are so little!" He is 6'7" and I am 5', so there is quite a difference!! Unfortunately I was unable to get a picture with Gene, but I really wanted one of Nick!! I know--sounds silly and immature, but I was so excited!!

It's that time of year again!!
It is getting to be half-marathon time again in the Scarbrough house, and we are in the midst of training for the St. Jude half-marathon again. This will be my 3rd year and Jason's 2nd year, and we decided to raise money for St. Jude this year, so I am posting the website where you can go and donate money under our team's name, which is Runnin' for a Reason. Our goal is $2,000.00, which means we only need 100 people to give us $20.00--anyone who wants to or can, please help us reach our goal! You can give more or less than $20.00--any amount is welcome! If you are interested in running and want to join our team, we would love to have you-just drop me an e-mail and let me know!

Happy Birthday, Jennie!
We celebrated Jennie's birthday this weekend with an excellent meal at Rust (a new restaurant in Clarksdale). The food is always fabulous! After that we all went out, which I admit-I never do, but I did for Jennie's birthday, and we had a lot of fun! Charles sang karaoke--he sings sooo good, and some of us girls attempted to sing--not so good, but fun! We always have such a great time!
OUCH!!!
Pic right after his fall--still smiling--what a sweetie! He is so brave--he kept telling me "it's ok mommy, I'm tough-that's the way God made me."
Pics that night--it just kept swelling--I kept ice on it on and off all day even though I know it only helps right after, but I hoped it would stop the swelling. Poor guy--my dad said he looked like the guy off of star trek!
Pics last night and today--here come the double "shiners!!"
Well, it looks worse than it is, or at least that is what the Hematologist at St. Jude tells us! Grayton was running down the hallway the other day, slipped, and fell into the wall. For those of you who don't know, Grayton was diagnosed with Type 2B Von Willebrand Disease almost 2 years ago by the amazing hematology group at St. Jude--it is a bleeding disorder that just causes him to bruise and bleed easily, so any little bump is a big deal for him! Poor little guy--he looks like someone smacked him between the eyes with a baseball bat! He is tough though--he never complained of it hurting or anything, but me being the worrysome mother gave him Tylenol around the clock for 2 days because I was scared he would get a headache! I did not sleep at all the night it happened--I was checking his pupillary response, heart rate, and waking him every couple of hours to be sure he did not have a concussion. Boy, it must stink to have a FNP for a mother! However he is so proud of his 2 black "shiners" on his eyes! They were his "show and tell" for school on Friday!

Beach Trip
I love this picture--it looks like you're actually standing on the beach behind Riley Kate when you look at it!
We just returned from a fabulous vacation in Destin, Florida! I love Destin, and in my family, it has been a tradition to go every year! My parents honeymooned in Panama City, FL, so every year they have gone back, even with kids, and who can blame them--it is sooo wonderful! Jason and I honeymooned in Tahiti and Bora Bora, and I have to say I love the Destin beaches better!Way too many pictures, I know, but I just went crazy with the camera! This is only some of the pictures that we loved!
Grayton loved the beach and the ocean-he constantly wanted someone to "ride the waves" with him! He had such a blast! Riley Kate loved the sand and the beach, but did not care for the ocean too much! When we took her out there and tried to put her in the ocean, she would scream! However, she did adore the sand-several times I caught her shoveling it on her head and in her bathing suit--not good places for sand to be!
Eating--a favorite past time in the Scarbrough household! We took the kids to Pompano Joe's on the beach because it looked kid friendly--we really enjoyed it and so did the kids!
Grayton and Riley Kate just couldn't get enough of the sand--it wasn't a problem though, thanks to the baby powder trick!
Brother loves to swim and he is like a little fish! Of course we had to go to the pool every day, which was kind of aggrevating considering we have one in our backyard! Grayton liked it though because he could swim better in it than the ocean, and he said the pool didn't have any "crabs or jellyfish!" How can you argue with that?
Dancing at the Red Bar, on of our most favorite restaurants! I highly recommend it to anyone! FUN-FUN-FUN and excellent food! And we always like to go back and visit Grayton Beach every year since we were married there!
Grampy and Nette went with us, and of course Grampy was sooo much fun on the beach--the kids had a blast with him and Nette! Grampy loves the ocean, so Grayton, Jason, and Grampy stayed in the ocean most of the time.
Sweet sister had so much fun chasing the birds, seagulls, up and down the beach! She and brother played in the sand and loved it! When brother would go out in the ocean, she would just stand there and watch him, waiting for him to come back and play!
Some pics of the fam on the beach--just like we do every year!
Family Birthday Party
Well, there are no more babies at the Scarbrough house! Grayton just turned 4 and Riley Kate 2-boy, how time flies! These past 4 years with Grayton and 2 with Riley Kate have honestly been the most special and amazing years of my life. Since I have been in FNP school, we put off birthday parties until I finished, and then we had to wait on Jason to go for a week long business trip, so we just had a small family party, and we will have one for their friends soon.

Happy 4th Birthday, Grayton!
The Life of Grayton, our gift from God!
8/20/08
11:32 AM
8lbs. 4 oz
20 1/2"
I cannot believe my precious little baby boy is 4 years old! I am so proud of him, but at the same time my heart aches to realize that he is growing up so fast! Today, four years ago, I held him and ours eyes met for the first time--I remember it like it was yesterday-unconditional love! Grayton was such a suprise and a blessing! I am so thankful to God that He has a plan for us, and He is in control, not us! I thank God every day for giving Jason and I this precious little man whom I love and adore with all of my heart! Children are truly gifts from the Lord! Thank you, Lord for this precious little person who has touched my heart in so many special ways!

Fun in Mr. Kent's Garden
My parents and my aunt and uncle are building houses beside each other on like 8 or 9 acres they purchased last year--it is such a great spot!! Anyway, it has lots for the kids to do and discover, so we go out there whenever we get the chance and play in the dirt piles or go on adventures!
Sweet Mr. Kent and Mrs. Camille let us go play and pick fresh vegies from their garden any time we want to, and the kids love it! We all put our boots on and explore! As you can see, the dogs love to participate, especially Cruise, the Haney's lab. He loves Riley Kate and she loves ALL animals! We always have so much fun!
1st Day of Junior Kindergarten
Pics today--4 year old Preschool
Being silly before school!
My little boy is growing up! Grayton started his first day of 4 year old preschool or as they call it now, junior kindergarten? (It wasn't called that when I was in it!) I found these pics from last year and it made me happy and sad to see how much he has grown! He is such a blessing to Jason and I, and we love him so much!

Willie Nelson and Dave Matthews Band Concert
This was taken before the concert--Wille Nelson was getting ready to start singing--he was really great! Oh! and it was about 100 degrees too! Can't you tell we are burning up!?!
Here are some pics of the stage and all of the people down in center field with general admission tickets--boy, I am glad I got us seats--I can only imagine how BAD it smelled down there! We were burning up and sweating up in our seats with a breeze blowing on us! Our seats were great--we were right under the box seats, and we could go inside anytime to "cool down" and get a drink or something! We really had a blast!! The concert was so awesome--there were so many different people there--some fully clothed, some not! Lots of hippies and "DMB followers!" Dave was so awesome, and he played so many of our favorites from his first couple of albums and covered some awesome songs like "Burning down the house!" I would definitely love to go to another one!!

Summer Days
Pics of swimming in the backyard
Pics from the Library
I am trying to relax now that school is over, BUT I can't seem to do that for some strange reason! So I am running the kids ragged with projects and activities, but the good news is the kids are exhausted at the end of the day. Yesterday, we jogged 5 miles, swam for 2 hours, had a picnic, went to the library and to get ice cream, and finally swam again! WHEW--busy day, but everyone was alseep by 9:15, including me! (For those of you who may not know, that is an amazing bedtime in this house! We have 2 little night owls who think they are supposed to stay up until 11:00!) Well anyway, here are some pics of some of our activities!
